Call for Abstracts

We are inviting abstracts for our next  international 2 day event. This invitation is open to all and we welcome you to submit papers on any topic related or associated with UCG technology. If you have not attended our events before event, they offer great exposure  unrivalled networking and the opportunity to debate and discuss UCG related issues with a unique peer group. Download information on themes, deadlines and event content here.

Our last event was another resounding success- Over 100 senior delegates from all the leading coal rich nations registered to attend for this two-day UCG Workshop and Conference., the carefully constructed programme featured a variety of key speakers, all highlighting topics relevant to the commercial growth and development of UCG Technology.

The event offered not only timely insight, knowledge exchange and great audience participation but unsurpassed networking. Key topics were Training, Regulatory and Licensing criteria, Groundwater aspects of UCG Techology and deveoplments in Drilling Techniques. Also covered, were process design principles, legal fameworks, financial and investor relations and the need to engage in public dialogue.Delegates from 35 nations participated in our most ambitious conference programme to date.

Our first Networking event was also a huge success and will become a regular feature of future events.

What is Underground Coal Gasification?

The Basics of UCG

UCG (Underground Coal Gasification) is the conversion of coal, whilst still in the ground, into a a high quality synthetic gas that can be processed to provide fuels for power generation, diesel fuels, jet fuels and hydrogen.

It is safe, cleaner and less intrusive than conventional mining and can utilise much of the worlds otherwise unmineable coal reserves.
